Why I should get a hamster

Dear Mom and Dad,

I am writing this letter because I would like a hamster as a new pet.

1. I should get a hamster because the dog is old and doesn’t play much. It would be nice to get a pet that will play with me so I think I should get a hamster. I have heard they’re noisy at night so I can keep them in another room.

2. Hamsters are fluffy and fun to play with. Even though hamsters are nocturnal and dogs are not you can still play with them in the afternoon.

3. There is one thing that you have to train a hamster to do: trust you when you pick it up. I know training is hard but it won’t be as hard as dogs. For example, you don’t have to teach them to poop outside.

4. Even though you have to buy stuff like a hamster cage or hamster food I can help pay for the stuff we get. I can use my birthday money.

I’d like to talk about this over the weekend.
